Designed for beginner and early-stage players building the core fundamentals of padel in a fun, supportive and structured environment.

Players at Foundation level are learning how to:

  • Rally consistently
  • Serve and return confidently

  • Use basic tactical concepts
  • Build confidence in social and beginner match play

Coaching focuses on technique fundamentals, movement, glass introduction, consistency and understanding the flow of the game.

DEVELOPMENT (Playtomic levels 1.5 to 2.5)

Designed for players who can sustain rallies and play recreational matches but want to improve consistency, tactical awareness and overall match effectiveness.

Players at Development level are working on:

Padel Xpress 1.0

Introduction to Padel

Programme Overview

Padel Xpress 1.0 is a six-week beginner coaching course designed to introduce new players to the fundamentals of padel in a fun, social and accessible environment.

The programme focuses on learning the essential technical and tactical foundations required to serve, rally, score and enjoy social match play confidently.

  • Complete beginners
  • Players new to padel
  • Players returning to racket sports

Course Structure

  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Session Length: 60 minutes
  • Recommended Group Size: 4–6 players

Beyond the Basics

Course Overview

Padel Xpress 2.0 is a structured six-week progression course designed to follow directly from beginner padel programmes and introductory coaching pathways.

The programme bridges the gap between beginner sessions and confident club-level match play, focusing on net control, defensive wall skills, intelligent point construction and tactical awareness.

Ideal For

Players who:

  • Have completed Padel Xpress / Intro to Padel
  • Can serve, rally and score
  • Want to improve consistency and positioning
  • Are preparing for club sessions, leagues and match play

Course Structure

  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Session Length: 60 minutes
  • Recommended Group Size: 4–6 players

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, players will:

  • Understand attacking and defensive court positioning
  • Hold and regain the net position effectively
  • Use volleys, bandejas and lobs confidently
  • Defend using the glass and reset points under pressure
  • Build points with greater tactical awareness and purpose

Weekly Course Content

Week 1 – Consistency & Court Positioning

Technical Focus

  • Forehand and backhand consistency
  • Serve and return placement
  • Depth control from the back of the court

Tactical Focus

  • Understanding when to move forward
  • Avoiding “no-man’s land”
  • Attacking vs defensive positioning

Outcome

Players gain confidence rallying with purpose and begin transitioning to the net at the correct moments.


Week 2 – Attacking Volleys & Net Control

Technical Focus

  • Forehand and backhand volleys
  • Low controlled volleys vs high volleys
  • Directional control and angles

Tactical Focus

  • Holding net position
  • Closing the middle
  • Applying pressure without over-hitting

Outcome

Players learn how to stay in control once they reach the net and force opponents into errors.


Week 3 – Bandeja & Dealing with the Lob

Technical Focus

  • Bandeja technique and footwork
  • Recovery positioning after overheads
  • Controlled overhead decision-making

Tactical Focus

  • When to play bandeja vs smash
  • Maintaining attack after being lobbed
  • Patience in offensive situations

Outcome

Players feel comfortable being lobbed and can maintain attacking pressure rather than panicking.


Week 4 – Defensive Wall Skills & Resetting

Technical Focus

  • Back wall defence
  • Side wall timing
  • Lifting the ball to depth

Tactical Focus

  • Staying calm under pressure
  • Resetting points from defence to neutral
  • Choosing safe options

Outcome

Players become more resilient defensively and use the glass effectively rather than avoiding it.


Week 5 – Counter-Attack & Short Ball Conversion

Technical Focus

  • Block volleys
  • Controlled counter-attacks
  • Aggressive but safe returns

Tactical Focus

  • Recognising short balls
  • Stepping forward at the right time
  • Turning defence into attack

Outcome

Players learn how to take advantage of opponent mistakes and finish points efficiently.


Week 6 – Match Play & Tactical Review
